The New LG Ice Cream Cell Phone

The same company that produced the KG800 Chocolate has just launched another dessert-oriented cell phone: the LH5000 Ice Cream. Judging by the popularity of the Chocolate series, the Ice Cream cell phone is going to be successful at least among teen-age girls.

The phone is not actually a new one, but an update version of the older LH-5000 model. It was released in Korea in 2007, but never made it to Europe or the US.

The Ice Cream phone comes in a clamshell design, weighs 101 grams, 100 millimeters long and only 13.6 millimeters thick. It comes in three "flavors": vanilla (white), pistachio (light blue) and strawberry (light pink). Actually this is where the cell phone gets its name. These three fancy colors will probably make the phone very popular among girls, which isn't bad at all.

This 3G phone includes a 2.2-inch, 262k color display with 240 x 320 resolution, a 2-megapixel camera, a secondary video call camera and internet capabilities. The new LH-5000 sends and receives e-mails and it can also be used as an electronic dictionary. When receiving calls or text messages, the phone's front panel shines to grab your attention. The same front panel can also display hearts and emoticons.

Pricing for the new LH5000 Ice Cream starts at an equivalent $400 and tops out at approximately $500. There is no word if or when the phone will be released in other countries, but considering the success of the Chocolate cell phone, LG will probably bring its new handset on other markets as well.

The South Korean company is also famous for its Prada cell phone, for the Shine series and also for the new 5-megapixel camera phone, the elegant and beautiful Viewty model.
