Announced in June 2007 and released on the market in November 2007, Samsung's SGH-F210 updates an earlier model with a similar concept, the X830. Similar to its predecessor, the F210 cell phone is a mix between two products, an MP3 player and a regular GSM phone.

Samsung has managed to produce a quite small (87.8 x 31 x 20.5 mm) and light (72 grams including battery) device, so you can even forget that your MP3 player also functions as a phone. The cell phone is so shiny and good looking that you'll probably fall in love at first sight. If you see it closed you might even mistake it for a regular MP3 player. But you'll be in for a big surprise the moment you swivel it and discover the key board.

The D-pad, which also functions as a scroll wheel, is both good looking and handy as you can use it to control the music player and to scroll through the menus. When you are listening to music, the screen pops into wide mode, so that it looks like any other ordinary MP3 player.

Samsung's F210 cell phone features high sound quality, superior to any other music cell phones. Maybe the headset that comes with the phone is not the greatest but surely is above average. The MP3 player can read all the usual audio formats, (MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+) and it also includes an FM radio with RDS.

The TFT 128 x 220 pixels display with 262K color support is high quality but disappointingly small. The F210 cell phone display only measures about 1.5 inches, which forces you to scroll from left to right even when using the menu.

On the other hand, the 1 GB internal memory is a big plus for this cell phone as it is enough for you to store music. Also if this proves not to be enough you can also use the microSD card slot. The cell phone also includes a 2-mega-pixel camera.
